The Minister of the Interior, Makis Voridis, with the aim of fully and promptly ensuring the conditions of personal and public hygiene in school buildings, approved the recruitment of 15,495 school cleaners.
The cleaning staff will be hired with a fixed-term private law employment relationship in the Municipalities of the entire country and for their allocation, last year’s streamlined method has been followed, according to which cross-reference data was received from the Ministry of Education and Religion and the Municipalities regarding the total area of , for cleaning, surface of school buildings.
With this method, the coverage of the real cleaning needs in man-hours was calculated and matched with the correct distribution of the necessary amounts.
The total cost of the cleaning staff’s fees in the school buildings will amount to approximately 85,000,000 euros.
