The challenges that the Ministry of Interior will face in the near future and the significant progress that has been made so far in the actions foreseen in the Annual Action Plan for 2021, was the subject of the Strategic Planning Council, convened by the Minister of Interior Makis Voridis, with the joint participation of the political leadership, the General Directorates of the ministry, as well as the presidency of the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government.
As Mr. Voridis pointed out, this particularly ambitious plan encompasses all areas of action and responsibility of the Ministry of Interior and constitutes the “road map” that will lead to the necessary and beneficial administrative reform.
The Deputy Minister of Interior, Stelios Petsas, praised the good cooperation that has been developed all this time for the promotion of institutional and development issues. He focused on the example of the recent pet bill that was passed, not only for the bill itself, but also for the secondary legislation required for its implementation.
The Deputy Minister of Interior, in charge of Macedonia and Thrace, Stavros Kalafatis, stressed the need to support the policies of extroversion and facilitation, through the Directorates of the Macedonia and Thrace Sector, development efforts in the wider region, but also the acceleration of will contribute to the addition of a development sign to the Local Government, with emphasis on cross-border cooperation.
