M. Voridis: Teleworking in the State remains in force

On Monday, November 29, the Minister of Interior, Makis Voridis, answered a topical question of the Head of the Department of Interior of SYRIZA, Costas Zachariadis, regarding the implementation of the teleworking measure in the entire State.

Mr. Voridis clarified that the institutional framework regarding emergency teleworking remains in force and has been formed before June of this year, reiterating that the number of employees employed in the public sector is determined based on the nature of their duties and the needs of each service. at the rate specified in its work plan.

As the minister noted, the above refutes SYRIZA’s proposal for horizontal implementation of telework, characterizing it as rough and inapplicable. He also cited the inability of the measure to be applied to police, health army and civil servants who come into contact with the public, due to the nature of their profession.

In fact, responding to Mr. Zachariadis’ objections about the non-implementation of the law on telework, Mr. Voridis accused the Official Opposition of hypocrisy, recalling that he had voted against the relevant draft law in June 2021.

Regarding SYRIZA’s criticism of the course of the pandemic in our country, the Minister noted that 85% of the people in the ICU are unvaccinated and 95% of the people who end up are unvaccinated, stressing that the picture would be different. if the central debate revolved around increasing vaccination, so as not to provide various alibis to those who choose to remain unvaccinated.

Mr Voridis even referred to a graph published by the European Commission showing a reduction in deaths in those countries where vaccination rates are rising, saying government policy has yielded an additional 500,000 people vaccinated with the first vaccine in recent times.

Finally, the minister accused SYRIZA of trying to absolve those who insist on not being vaccinated and of conveying a critical debate on public health at the political level, clarifying that the Government is not prepared to follow this slippery slope.
