It’s no secret that new Apple PCs based on SoC M1 use the Rosetta 2 emulator to run unadapted applications. That is, this is a very necessary application for many.

However, it may soon disappear from macOS in some regions. A hint of this was found in the next beta version of macOS 11.3. In the description of the changes in the new beta version, it is said that the Rosetta application will be removed after the update is installed. A couple of other lines say “Rosetta is no longer available in your region” and “Apps that require Rosetta will no longer run.”

It is still completely unclear why Apple decided to do this, and which regions it will affect. Perhaps this is due to some legal nuances.
