At the polls on Sunday, July 11, the Bulgarians and in this context the far-right BMPO party continues its aggressive rhetoric against Skopje. On the occasion of the recent visit of the Prime Minister of the neighboring Republic of Northern Macedonia Zoran Zaef in Sofia, in an effort to persuade Bulgaria to lift its objections to its country to start accession talks with the European Union, but without achieving any significant results, the vice-president of the nationalist BMRO, MEP Angel Jabaski, posted on his personal Facebook account official video of his party, entitled: “” Macedonia “is Bulgarian”.
The video, which is part of the campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections, essentially presents Skopje as a historical and cultural part of “Greater Bulgaria”, which sometimes appears to reach as far as the Aegean Sea.
“THE “MacedoniaIs Bulgarian. A fact that does not need proof. A fact that Zoran Zaef forgets when he is in Skopje and only remembers when he asks for something. Bulgaria has always loved “Macedonia”. But Bulgaria must not be blackmailed! Friendship is based on trust and consistency. The truth cannot be bypassed and history must reject the fate of every traitor. “Bulgaria and the Bulgarian patriots will continue our fight for the truth!” Mr. Jabaski wrote characteristically on social media.
