He also blamed the Ukrainians “nationalist battalions” that they “systematically disrupt rescue operations and intimidate civilians trying to evacuate” war zones.

“Vladimir Putin urged Macron and Soltz to exert influence on the Kiev authorities to put an end to these criminal acts,” the Russian presidency added.

In addition, Vladimir Putin briefed Macron and Soltz on the state of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, while the three leaders agreed to stay in touch, the Kremlin said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin showed no willingness to end the war with Ukraine, said an official of the French presidency.

Macron and Solz reiterated their call for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine as a condition for full negotiations, the official said.
