Macron arrives in Israel and meets families of Hamas victims

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Israel this Tuesday (24), at a delicate moment in the conflict with Hamas, presenting proposals and pressing for a humanitarian truce, despite an imminent ground offensive in Gaza.

Macron landed early in the morning at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport and met for the first time with families of French victims of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

Marcon plans to express solidarity following the Hamas attacks and discuss a two-state solution, according to a source at the Élysée Palace, the official residence of the president of the French Republic, on Monday (24).

Macron is expected to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli President Issac Herzog and opposition leader Yair Lapid.
