Asked to comment on French Culture Minister Rima Abdul Malak’s announcement that Gerard Depardieu was being stripped of the Legion of Honor, Emmanuel Macron called the ministerial announcement “somewhat hasty”, saying that the Legion of Honor it is not of a moral character and that if it were, then it should have been removed by many artists.
The French president also spoke of a manhunt against Gerard Depardieu, noting however that he considers himself “invulnerable in the fight against attacks against women”.
