French President Emmanuel Macron has asked the French arms industry Nexter to increase production of Ceasar self-propelled guns before pledging to send six more to the Ukrainian army, according to Reuters, citing a source in the French Ministry of Defense.
Prior to his arrival in Kyiv, Macron had asked Nexter to speed up its production to go into “wartime mode” and build (self-propelled guns) Caesar much faster for the French army. ” , according to the same source.
After talks today with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, President Macron announced that France would send six more Caesar self-propelled guns to Ukraine, in addition to the twelve it has already delivered. The French army has a total of less than 80 such self-propelled guns.
