French President Emmanuel Macron met with his Turkish counterpart, Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the NATO Extraordinary Summit in Brussels.
They agreed to maintain stable and close coordination between the allies as the war continues in Ukraine, according to sources in the French presidency. They will continue to ensure the strengthening of the Alliance with emphasis on the strengthening of the wing (s.s. east) and the possibility of deterrence.

Once the ceasefire is in place, France and Turkey will be available to support a much-needed negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine.
The President of the Republic and his Turkish counterpart also discussed the situation in the South Caucasus. Both want to prevent the possible destabilizing effects of the war in Ukraine on the region. Mr Macron reaffirmed France ‘s determination to work within the Minsk Group for a lasting political solution to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
