Macron: Extension of the lockdown in France for one month

Extension of the lockdown throughout France for at least a month was announced on Wednesday night (31/3) by the President of France Emanuel Macron, in a televised speech, with The measures currently in place locally to deal with the pandemic extend from Saturday across the country.

The restrictions will be valid for at least one month. “We will lose control if we do not act now,” the French president warned.

The schools and kindergartens, which remained open, will be closed for three weeks, instead of two which are normally during the spring break. France closed schools for two months during the first lockdown last spring, but did not do so in November, imposing only certain restrictions on the number of students per class.

“It’s the best solution to slow down the virus,” said President Macron.
