Arms shipments used in the war in the Gaza Strip should be stopped as part of a wider effort to find a political solution, French President Emmanuel Macron said today. France is not a major arms supplier to Israel, with arms sales to Israel set at €30 million in 2023, according to the French Defense Ministry’s annual arms sales report. “I think the priority today is to get back to a political solution and stop selling these weapons that are being used in the war in the Gaza Strip. France does not export any of them,” Macron told France Inter radio. “Our priority now is to avoid escalation. The people of Lebanon must not be sacrificed. Lebanon cannot become another Gaza,” added the French president.
