French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday that it would be a “mistake” for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “reject” a ceasefire proposal on the Israel-Lebanon border, as such a decision would make him ” responsible’ for possible escalation in the region. “The proposal made is a well established proposal. It didn’t happen out of thin air,” Mr Macron pointed out during a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Montreal.
