“We will work to extend this measure to minors (…) I think it is a very good prevention policy that will allow all young people to be protected“, he added, repeating the slogan “Come out covered”.
In the video Macron also said that free medical tests will also be expanded to cover not only HIV but also other viruses “because this is also a policy of prevention”.
In recent years in France the number of new HIV diagnoses has not decreased. In 2021 it hovered around 5,000. According to health services, 15% of people tested positive last year were under the age of 25.
