Surrounded by Brigitte’s wife, her children, her grandchildren and to the sounds of the “European anthem”, the Ode to Joy, Emanuel Macron arrived at the Place de la Areos, below the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Speaking to the assembled crowd, Macron, after repeatedly thanking those who worked for his re-election, said he was well aware that many who voted for him today did so to block the way to the far right.
He promised to implement a program of social and ecological sensitivity, while recalling “the tragic moments we live in because of the Ukrainian”.
He also promised that his new five-year presidency would not be just a continuation of the previous one and promised that he would be the president of all the French. “I want to thank all the French men and women who trusted me in the first and second rounds to bring a a more independent France, a stronger Europe, through investment and profound change “concluded Macron, while the event closed with the crowd singing the national anthem of France.
