Macron will meet with party leaders today to appoint a new prime minister

French President Emmanuel Macron will meet today with leaders of parties of the left, center and right with the aim, almost seven weeks after parliamentary elections in which no party won an outright majority, to finally give the country a new prime minister. Whoever Macron appoints will face a difficult task. Passing the 2025 budget by parliament is one of the many challenges it will face, at a time when France is under pressure from the European Commission and bond markets to reduce its deficit.
