What does an action movie need to be considered the best of all time? The answer is personal and varies according to the criteria used by those who answer, but it will certainly have sweat, action, weapons, big cars, speed, beatings, drinks, romance, villains and even a high dose of luck for the protagonist.
With a wide variety of renowned actors and actresses, often in productions with multi-million budgets, several action films were able to leave people glazed in front of the big screen, which makes the mission of electing a ranking of the best even more difficult.
A “Variety Magazine” , which operates in the entertainment business since 1905, faced the challenge and made its list of the 50 best superproductions of the genre. Feature films such as The Matrix, Top Gun, Die Hard, The Terminator, Kill Bill, Gladiator, Fast and Furious and many others have earned their place in the sun, but the highest position on the podium was for the film “Mad Max 2: The Hunt Continues “, from 1981.

The film takes place in a chaotic scenario, where a war destroys and disables oil wells in Arab countries, leading the world, highly dependent on fossil fuels, such as gasoline, to collapse.
The continuation of the franchise shows the protagonist Max (Mel Gibson), an ex-policeman whose wife and children were murdered by a biker gang, involved in an increasingly chaotic and primitive society, where there is a lack of dialogue and the only law to prevail is that of the strongest.
In this context, where gasoline is more valued than most other consumer goods, Max will help a community protect a refinery from insane and reckless bikers. The rest of the details are spoilers.
Below, check out the list of the ten best action films, according to “Variety Magazine”:
