Madame Tussauds Museum shows preview of Anitta’s wax statue

Madame Tussauds released a teaser of the wax statue of Anitta, which should be exhibited at the museum’s branch in New York.

The museum published, on Tuesday (31), on Instagram, behind the scenes of the production and parts of the statue – such as the eyes, mouth and eyebrows – being prepared.

The work was not shown in its entirety, and, despite the words “coming soon”, there is still no official release date.

The announcement that Anitta would have a statue at Madame Tussauds was made in August of last year.

At the time, the singer posted on Twitter: “I’m so honored! I can’t wait to have my waxwork at Madame Tussauds in New York!”

The behind-the-scenes video of the production of the statue showed that Anitta wore the pants and panties of the costume for her performance at Rock in Rio, in 2019.

In addition, the singer wore a white crop top written “Garota do Rio” – the same one used in some scenes of the video for “Girl From Rio”, released in April 2021.

According to Madame Tussauds, the process of creating a statue can require over 200 measurements and photographs taken from all angles of the star being portrayed.

“The head is crafted separately from the body mold, and it can take four to six weeks to sculpt and achieve the exact likeness of the famous face,” the museum states on its website.

From the first session to its completion, the statue can take up to four months to complete and require the work of a team of 20 artists.

Even though Madame Tussauds has locations across several countries, all the statues are produced in a studio in West London.

Museums welcome over 500 million people every year. In addition to Anitta, Neymar, Pelé, Ayrton Senna, Gisele Bündchen, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrósio are among the Brazilians who have already been exhibited at Madame Tussauds.
