Madonna and Coldplay’s favorite pizzaiolo offers a special lunch and class for pizza lovers in SP

São Paulo is the city that consumes the most pizza in Brazil and second in the world, behind only New York. And to commemorate the day of the one who prepares our beloved rounds, celebrated on January 17th, the pizzeria La Braciera welcomes award-winning Neapolitan chef Pasquale Cozzolino to prepare a six-course lunch with wine pairing at the chain’s unit located in Jardins.

The menu, served from 1pm, costs BRL 195 per person – or BRL 250 with wine pairing -, and is limited to 80 seats, with advance reservation. On the 19th, at 3 pm, he will give a masterclass for pizza enthusiasts (R$ 199).

Born in Naples, the birthplace of pizza in Italy, Cozzolino began studying gastronomy as a teenager. He has been private chef to music artists as part of the U2 , Madonna the band muse and musicians from Coldplay on tours in Europe and South America before settling in New York in 2011. There, he became a partner at the Ribalta restaurant, in the heart of Manhattan, elected the owner of one of the best pizzas in the city by New York Magazine and the celebrated Italian publication Gambero Rosso.

He is also the author of the best seller “The Pizza Diet”, where he tells how he lost 50 kilos eating pizza every day for five months.

The date was chosen as World Pizzaiolo Day because it coincides with the Day of Santo Antão (or Sant’Antonio Abate), considered to be the protector of these professionals.
