Madonna is sued by fans after delaying shows in New York

Two fans are suing Madonna after delays to her New York shows. According to the accusers, the delay in starting the performances caused real harm to fans who “had to wake up early to go to work” the next day.

According to the billboardthe complaint was filed on Wednesday (17) in Brooklyn federal court by Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, who purchased the tickets and claim that the artist violated her contract with spectators.

According to the publication, the artist also violated New York state laws by starting three December shows after 10:30 pm, instead of the scheduled time at 8:30 pm.

“Defendants’ actions constitute not only a breach of their contracts, but also a deliberate exercise in false advertising, negligent representation, and unfair and deceptive business practices,” the two men’s lawyers write.

Fans also say they “wouldn't have bought tickets if they knew the shows would start after 10:30 pm” on a weekday. They claim that they left the venue after 1am and say that many fans were left with “less limited transport options” and higher prices.

It is also worth mentioning that in addition to Madonna, the lawsuit also named as defendants Live Nation – which produced the performances and the Barclays Center – where the shows took place.

Madonna battled a bacterial infection in June last year and canceled the first leg of her “Celebration” tour in North America.
