The singer Madonna 66, used social media last Sunday (6), to mourn the death of his brother, Christopher Ciccone aged 63. In addition to sharing a carousel of photos, the Queen of Pop praised the artist, who was creative director of several tours.
“My brother Christopher is gone. He was the closest human to me for so long. It’s hard to explain our bond. But it came from the understanding that we were different and that society would make it difficult for us for not following the status quo”, he began in his report.
Afterwards, the artist said that together, they “danced through the madness of their childhood”. “In fact, dancing was a kind of superglue that held us together,” he mentioned.
In her post, Madonna also mentions how important it was to discover dance in the small town where she lived, alongside her brother, who always followed her. “We devour art, music and cinema like hungry animals. We went to funerals, we cried and we went dancing. We danced together on stage at the beginning of my career and eventually he became the creative director of many tours”, he says.
In a part of his tribute, the voice of “Material Girl” lists Christopher’s attributes. “He was a painter, a poet and a visionary. I admired him. He had impeccable taste. And a sharp tongue, which he sometimes used against me, but I always forgave him.”
Finally, she reports that the last few days have not been easy, after he became ill and says that he felt a lot of pain at the end of his life.
“I did my best to keep him alive as long as possible. He was in a lot of pain at the end. Once again, we joined hands. We close our eyes and dance. Together. I’m glad he’s not suffering anymore. There will never be anyone like him. I know he’s dancing somewhere.”
At the beginning of Madonna’s careerChristopher worked as one of her backup dancers. He later became a show designer and backstage costume designer for Madonna. In 2004, he also directed the artist’s “The Girlie Show World Tour”.
