Madonna must pay tribute to Cazuza, Renato Russo and other Brazilians victimized by AIDS during the show in Copacabana on Saturday (4).
During the light and sound check tests carried out on Thursday (2), fans recorded photos of the Brazilian singers being projected on the screens. Images also appeared of actress Sandra Béa, actor Mauro Faccio (who played Zacarias in “Os Trapalhões”), sociologist and human rights activist Betinho and writer Caio Fernando Abreu.
Throughout the shows “Celebration Tour” Madonna pays tribute to people who died from AIDS or complications caused by the disease during the performance of “Live to Tell”.
Artists such as Freddie Mercury, Keith Haring and others are among those honored throughout the tour, as well as personal friends of the singer who were victims of the disease. During her visit to Rio de Janeiro, she decided to include names and faces of Brazilians who were carriers of the virus.
