American singer Madonna's show ended, in the early hours of this Sunday (5), in Copacabana, in the south of Rio, with at least 160 bladed weapons seized by the State Military Police (PMERJ) and 33 people taken to the police station.
The security scheme for the megashow began in the early hours of this Saturday morning (4) and detained at least 33 people who were taken to police stations in the Copacabana neighborhood, until the latest partial assessment by the PM.
“In addition, the agents managed to seize the sharp objects at the blocking and search points set up at all access points to the beach,” stated the Military Police.
The Public Order Secretariat (SEOP) and the Municipal Guard also worked at the Madonna show with more than 1,130 agents. The actions resulted in the demobilization of four playpens made by illegal street vendors on Copacabana beach, in front of the show stage.
The playpens were demarcated with sandbags and beer boxes. During the action, more than two thousand items were also recovered, such as glass bottles, various drinks, electronic cigarettes, gas cylinders and a barbecue grill.
Municipal guards carried out two approaches to prevent lit barbecue grills and 30 campsites, practices that are prohibited on Rio de Janeiro's beaches. The teams also issued 366 traffic fines and removed 156 illegally parked vehicles.
During the inspection of taxis and app vehicles, a taxi was caught charging a tourist R$200.00 for a ride that, on average, on the taximeter, would cost around R$60.00. An application vehicle was also caught making improper charges and pirated transport activity was contacted.

Also according to SEOP, a teenager was arrested for cell phone theft and two other men for attempted theft and another for damaging an SEOP vehicle, in addition to the seizure of 59 knives and sharp objects.
According to PMERJ, the seizures and detentions are the result of the corporation's broad scheme set up with the help of innovative technologies such as the Facial Recognition System, drone aerial support and the new Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center.
A man was arrested after being identified by the facial recognition system spread throughout the neighborhood's streets, which had more than 60 security cameras throughout Copacabana.
