Daughter Lourdes posed next to her grandmother’s grave. Another tombstone that appeared in the images was that of Christopher Ciccone, who died this month, aged 63. He was creative director and worked with his sister on several tours.

In the sequence of images, Madonna also rescued an old video, in black and white, and wrote a message “life is a cycle”. A video that also caught attention was from the musician Levon Henry, who was with the singer, and who played the song “Single Petal of a Rose”, by Duke Ellington, on a saxophone.
