The initial audience expectation was 1.5 million people. The number of 1.6 million was recorded at around 10:45 pm, when Madonna took the stage for the performance, according to Riotur.
In a tone of gratitude, the queen of pop shared a video of the immensity of fans who filled the entire waterfront.
“This really happened. Thank you Rio. Thank you @pabllovittar and @anitta. Words cannot express my gratitude! To everyone involved!”, wrote the singer in the caption of the publication.
Madonna made history in Copacabana
The show in Rio ended the “The Celebration Tour” a tour that celebrated the queen of pop's 40-year career — had special appearances and tributes.
