But the decision was not welcomed by the residents of the area who in the following days gathered in front of the sports center to demonstrate in favor of the mural and in the same hours an online petition to save the work collected almost fifty thousand signatures in a few hours.
On the case, the prime minister Pedro Sanchez she commented, with a tweet: «The feminist struggle for equality has left an indelible mark on our history. It is a battle that we will carry on until we make sure that women can live freely and fairly ”.
The mobilization was successful: the “feminist” mural is not touched and remains where it is.
