Maduro’s visit has negative repercussions on social media, says Quaest

The visit of the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, to Brazil had negative repercussions on social networks, according to a survey by the consultancy Quaest released this Tuesday (30).

O negative feeling in relation to the visit of the Venezuelan leader was the majority, with 59% of mentions on networks. Second, they were 35% informative mentions and finally, 6% of positive mentions according to the survey.

As the survey points out, the debate was dominated by actors more to the right of the political spectrum, with arguments critical of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), recalling the TSE’s prohibition of associating the representative with dictators during the campaign in the presidential elections of 2022.

Also according to the survey, the debate should remain high on the networks and with strong criticism of Lula, especially after his speech defending Brazil’s resumption of energy purchases from Venezuela.

More than 326,000 mentions published by more than 76,000 unique authors were collected from the main social networks (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube) and news sites, with a total estimated reach of 530.3 million people between 00:00 and 17:40 on Monday fair (29).
