Maersk ship targeted by flying object in Gulf of Aden

Shipping giant Maersk announced that one of its vessels, the Maersk Sentosa, reported being targeted by a flying object in the northern Gulf of Aden today. Maersk told Reuters there were no reports of injuries among crew members or damage to the ship or cargo. A spokesman for the Copenhagen-based company said the ship is one of its US-flagged vessels that sail for its subsidiary Maersk Line, Limited. The master of a merchant vessel reported an explosion near his ship, about 180 nautical miles (333 km) east of Nistoun, Yemen, according to an update from the UK Maritime Safety Organization (UKMTO) today. According to the UKMTO, the vessel and its crew are safe.
