A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck Ethiopia, east of the capital Addis Ababa, early this Saturday (11), according to data from the German Geosciences Research Center (GFZ).
The earthquake was shallow, at a depth of 10 km, the GFZ said.
The area has been rocked by a series of small earthquakes since a nearby volcano began showing signs of an imminent eruption earlier this year.
There is no information on victims or significant damage so far.
