A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit the island of Crete, Greece, on Wednesday (14), local time, the German Research Center in Geosciences (GFZ) said.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 83 km, said GFZ.
Residents of Egypt also felt the earthquake, and the country’s National Institute for Astronomical Research and Geophysics did not report victims or material damage.
The institute said it had registered a magnitude earthquake 6.4 to 431 km from the north coast of Egypt.
