Maiara and Maraisa kicked off their “In Concert” tour on Thursday night (28), in Rio de Janeiro. With the start of performances in Brazil, the duo continues the project inspired by the DVD “Ao Vivo em Portugal”, recorded in Lisbon last year.
Previously, Maiara and Maraisa would take the stage at Farmasi Arena last Saturday (23). The debut of the tour, however, was postponed due to a warning of heavy rain in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
The duo performed on the 180° stage, with various visual effects. ”We are taking our dream to share with all of you, and I think it is important to highlight female power, unite and show how much beautiful work women have been doing in music. Each stay we will be together with local orchestras, enjoy every second of this show prepared with lots of love.”, said Maraisa.
Two hours into the show, Maiara performed “Como Nosso Pais” by Elis Regina. On social media, she talked about her anticipation for the special night. “The big day has arrived, Maiara & Maraisa In Concert, the first date in Brazil. We are here in Rio de Janeiro for this super special night, which everyone has been waiting for for a long time.”, she said.
“I'm very happy, very excited, let's go for it.”, concluded Maiara. On other occasions, the duo has highlighted that the project is also a way of highlighting the strength of women. The orchestra, for example, is made up only of women.
As for the repertoire, the duo chose to maintain old hits from their career such as “Medo Bobo”, in addition to adding more recent tracks. At some point during the shows, they also perform songs from the “Patroas 35%” project, created with Marília Mendonça.
Before launching their tour in Brazil, the sisters performed in February, in the cities of Lisbon and Porto, in Portugal. The first songs from the project were only released in September last year, such as “Narcisista”.
