Maine attack: police surround address linked to shooter

Police sources told CNN that a search Thursday for the last known address associated with Robert Card, the suspect in two shootings that left 18 people dead in Lewiston, was conducted by SWAT and FBI teams.

The search was based on Card’s association with the address in Bowdoin, Maine, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources told CNN that once SWAT and FBI teams cleared the home, investigators entered to execute the search warrant, looking for items such as computers, weapons and any evidence that could indicate a plan to carry out the attacks.

A CNN heard loud bangs near that address Thursday, including someone yelling “FBI” with a bullhorn.

State and local investigators did a similar style raid at another location, as well as a search of Card’s car. New searches are expected in the coming days, the sources said.
