Russia has accused Ukraine of launching a major drone strike against Sevastopol, in Crimea, where Russia’s Black Sea fleet is based.
The attack began at 04:20 on Saturday (local time) and, at least according to information from the Russian side, involved nine flying and seven sea-based drones.
At least one Russian warship was hit in the attack, Russia admitted, although it added that the damage was not serious.
According to information, it was actually the frigate “Admiral Makarov”, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet after the sinking of “Moscow”.

The image given by the pro-Russian governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozaev, was similar.
The drone attack on Russian Black Sea naval facilities in Crimea was the most massive in the Ukraine war, he said. He added that all drones were shot down and that no civilian infrastructure was affected.

“The preparation of this terrorist act and the training of military personnel of the 73rd Ukrainian Naval Special Operations Center were carried out by British specialists based in Ochakov, Mykolayiv region of Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement posted on Telegram.
Russia further claimed that ships that ensure the operation of the corridor for transporting grain from Russia to abroad were targeted.
