Samsung Electronics has unveiled a beta version of its browser – Samsung Internet 14.0.

As noted by the developers, the update offers improved settings for privacy and security, new possibilities for viewing content on folding screens, multitasking a new level, as well as “innovations in the user interface.”
The update provides protection while browsing the web with improved Smart Anti Tracking, which detects when a site is trying to track user data and automatically stops it. There is a new security dashboard that makes it easier to control your privacy settings and provides statistics such as the number of blocked pop-ups and trackers.

On foldable Galaxy devices, in Flex mode, you can watch videos in the upper half of the screen, while the video controls are displayed in the lower half. With Samsung Internet 14.0, Flex mode will automatically connect when playing a video in full screen mode – you don’t need to open the Video Assistant app additionally.

The new beta version supports the App Pair function, allowing you to launch up to three browser windows at the same time and view them on one screen. For example, you can simultaneously watch videos and compare prices on the pages of online stores.
The possibilities for customizing the browser have expanded, including on the sites you can display the same font that is used on the smartphone. Other interesting innovations:
- ‘Pen to text’ on Galaxy Tab S7 series: With the S Pen, you can write in your browser’s search bar and in any text field on websites, including the address bar. Handwritten text is automatically converted to plain text format
- In reading mode, pages with a lot of text are automatically converted to a more readable format
- The extension for translation supports 18 languages, including Russian, and allows you to translate text on sites
The final version of Samsung Internet 14.0 is scheduled for release in April after beta testing. The beta version of Samsung Internet 14.0 is available to everyone for download in the online stores Google Play Store and Galaxy Store.
Note that according to StatCounter data, Samsung Internet ranks fifth among browsers for all devices around the world in February, including computers, consoles, smartphones and tablets. If we consider only smartphones, then Samsung Internet ranks third with a share of 6.09%, after Google Chrome with 62.57% and Safari with 24.8%.
