Malaysia: The Merdeka 118 tower will soon be the second tallest building in the world

The tower Independence 118, located in its heart Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, officially has 118 floors and will soon become the second tallest building in the world.

The building was designed by the company’s architects Fender Katsalidis Based in Australia and was erected on the spot where its independence was declared Malaysia in 1957. The exteriors consist of triangular glass facades that look like an uncut ornament, inspired by patterns in Malaysian arts while symbolizing the rich cultural diversity of the country.

The building Independence 118 has a height of 678.9 meters and will include office space of 157,935 square meters, as well as hotels and residences, such as the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and the highest observation platform in Southeast Asia. The building is directly connected to all the railway networks of the city and is located above a 16-acre water park and open public areas.

The Independence 118 is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
