Max Haney dos Santos fleecy aged 34, was arrested on Sunday (4) after confessing to killing his ex-girlfriend.
According to the report, the victim Maria do Carmo Rodrigues de Lima aged 46, was found by neighbors inside the apartment where she lived, with signs of violence.
The broken-in door of the apartment was what caught the attention of residents who, upon entering the property, saw the victim on the bed wrapped in blankets. They called the Military Police and SAMU, which confirmed the woman’s death from mechanical asphyxiation.
Max Haney dos Santos Veloso was arrested by the Military Police in the Floresta neighborhood and confessed that he strangled the woman on Saturday (3), after a fight.
The crime took place in one of the most traditional buildings in Belo Horizonte, in the Itatiaia building located in Praça da Estaçao, in the center of the capital of Minas Gerais.
According to the PM, he was arrested on May 21, for failing to comply with a protective measure against the victim, but was released the following day for provisional release without paying bail.
On the 27th, Maria do Carmo was attacked again by the suspect who threatened to kill her if she did not withdraw the protective measure.
Still according to the BO, the victim had already made several records of threats and fights against the suspect, three of which in May alone.
According to the PM, Max has an extensive criminal record with passages for drug trafficking, robbery, bodily injury, threats, embezzlement and violence against women.
