A man suspected of participating in the robbery of a luxury motorcycle was arrested in Jardim Guaianazes, East Zone of São Paulo, this Wednesday (25), after displaying the vehicle on his social media.
According to the Public Security Department (SSP), the motorcycle is valued at almost R$80,000 and the theft took place on the September 7th holiday.
According to investigations, the suspect is part of a gang that steals and dismantles motorcycles to sell the parts for a lower price than that offered on the market.
Based on surveys carried out by civil police officers on the suspect’s social media, the agents observed that he constantly displayed possession of the vehicle, in addition to other items that were possibly stolen.
As a result, officers from the 2nd Cybercrimes Division (DCCiber) obtained arrest and search and seizure warrants. The man was located at the house where he lived and, at the location, the teams also seized helmets, a trunk, several cell phones and the motorcycle key.
The case was registered at the 2nd DCCiber Police Station, of the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), which continues investigations to identify and detain the others involved in the crime.
