Man arrested by PF with drugs at Manaus airport

A 24-year-old man was caught in the act by the Federal Police (PF) on Tuesday (8/4) at Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus, with 5.8 kg of drugs. The arrest occurred during a routine inspection.

The individual had landed in Manaus on a flight from São Gabriel da Cachoeira, in Amazonas. The drug, divided into five plastic tablets, was hidden inside her suitcase.

After the arrest, the man was taken to the PF headquarters in Manaus, where he was charged in the act for drug trafficking. Then he has undergone a custody hearing and is now available to justice.

The action of the Federal Police is part of the work to combat drug trafficking in the state of Amazonas, which has intensified in recent months. Eduardo Gomes International Airport is one of the main points of drug entry and exit in the state, which makes inspection on site even more important.
