The Military Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested a man for filming the intimate parts of women in a shopping center in Rio. He was charged with the crime of sexual harassment. The case is in court.
A young woman, who was walking through the mall with her boyfriend, noticed that the man was following her and approached him. She says she managed to get the footage and that the man had filmed other women.
“This guy here was filming me, walking behind me, filming me and filming other women too, because there’s definitely other recordings in here. He films other people too, other women in skirts”, says the harassment victim.
The man even asks for the device back while being driven by security guards at Barra Shopping, before being taken away by the police.
“I’m not going to give it (the camera), there are videos of several other women here”, says the victim to the man. “He films several women in skirts at the mall, he has been filming them. He does this with several other women,” says the victim.
“According to the 16th DP (Barra da Tijuca), a man was taken by military police to the unit, where he was booked in flagrante delicto for the crime of sexual harassment. The case is in court,” says a police note.
“The mall’s management informs that, as soon as it found out about the incident, it provided all assistance to the customer and remains available to the authorities for further clarification”, informs a note from Barra Shopping.
