The police arrested a 27-year-old man who robbed a jewelry store and was detained by people in the center of Caraguatatuba, on the coast of São Paulo, last Saturday (11).

While the suspect is lying on the ground, another man appears and tries to take his backpack. After that, other people appear on the scene and help detain the suspect.
In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat reported that municipal civil guards were called to respond to the incident and, at the scene, they found the perpetrator being immobilized by members of the public.
The agents recovered the jewelry and seized a machete that was in the man’s bag. He was taken to the Caraguatatuba Police Station, where the case was registered as a jewelry store robbery.
