A merchant was arrested for selling the mouse poison known Chumbinho in Cariacica (ES), in the Metropolitan Region of Vitória, after ten dogs and 20 cats dying poisoned in the region.
According to information released by the Civil Police on Thursday (13), the arrest was carried out by agents of the Specialized Environmental Protection Police Station.
The suspect owns an establishment located in the Vila Prudencio neighborhood. At the site, 21 bottles of product analogous to Chumbinho were found. Seven wild birds were also seized, three Curiós, three collars and one brink.
According to the holder of the Specialized Environment Protection Police Station, Leandro Piquet, ten dogs and 20 cats would have been poisoned with the product in the region. The inspection occurred after complaints that were released on social networks.
The establishment was administratively assessed by illegal trade of poisonous product and maintenance of exotic birds in cages without registration and authorization of the competent environmental agency.
The 49 -year -old owner was taken to the Cariacica Regional Police Station and filed in the act for producing, processing, packing, importing, exporting, marketing, providing, transporting, storing, storing, having in deposit or using toxic product or substance, dangerous or harmful to human health or the environment. After the usual procedures, it will be sent to the prison system.
