A 32-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, was arrested this Wednesday morning (10) by the Federal Police in Maceió, capital of Alagoas, for committing sexual abuse against children he lived with. According to investigations, the acts were recorded in images and shared on deep web platforms.
In addition to the preventive arrest warrant, the agents carried out two search and seizure warrants. There was also action in Teresópolis, in the Serrana region of Rio de Janeiro.
The investigation was initiated based on the analysis of images containing child sexual abuse sent by a New Zealand police agency to Interpol.
With the investigative work carried out by the Federal Police Victim Identification Task Force on the material received, two Brazilian children were identified and it was discovered that the images of abuse were produced in the city of Teresópolis.
The prisoner will be responsible for the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person, production and availability of images containing child sexual abuse.
The seized material – a cell phone and a computer – will be analyzed to investigate possible other criminal conduct and identify new victims.
The action is part of a series of operations carried out by the Cybercrime Repression Group (GRCC) of the Federal Police Station in Niterói, Rio.
This was another phase of Operation Archangel, whose objective is to combat crimes of rape of vulnerable people, production and dissemination of content involving child sexual abuse. O The name of the operation is inspired by Michael the Archangel, considered by many religions to be the protector of children.
