A man was arrested for drug trafficking for transporting 832 kilos of cocaine in a load of polenta. The seizure occurred last Wednesday (16) on the Raposo Tavares highway, near the city of Ipaussu (SP), 360 kilometers from the capital of São Paulo.
According to police, the drug is valued at around R$50 million.
The seizure was carried out in an operation by the Military Highway Police with teams from the Organized Crime Combat Task Force.
The truck was stopped and approached after police officers became suspicious of the vehicle. The agents found several packages of polenta and, among them, 800 bricks of cocaine.
The driver of the vehicle, which left Londrina (PR) and was destined for the city of Diadema, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, was arrested red-handed.
