Man attacks ex-wife with punches and wheelchair inside bar in Rio de Janeiro

A 42-year-old man was caught attacking his ex-wife with punches and a chair in a bar in Resende, in the western region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, this Wednesday (25).

The RJ Civil Police are investigating the whereabouts of Leandro Moreira da Silva, who is on the run after carrying out the attacks.

A video recorded by security cameras at the location last night shows the victim sitting next to another man when the attacker arrives at the scene.

He then approaches, points his finger in his ex-wife’s face, argues with her and then hits her in the face.

Leandro heads towards the exit, implying that he would leave the bar. However, he runs back, picks up a chair and throws it towards the woman. Watch the video below.

According to the police, Leandro managed to hit the woman in the head, leaving her face badly injured. She was taken to a local emergency hospital.

The victim told the police that her ex-husband did not accept the end of the relationship.

The 89th Resende Police Station requested an arrest warrant for Leandro, which was issued by the region’s 2nd Criminal Court.

He must respond for bodily injury with a request for preventive detention. According to Disque Denúncia, Leandro Moreira da Silva was born in Bocaina, Minas Gerais, and has a red spot on the right side of his face.
