The Court of Justice of Paraná accepted a complaint from the Public Prosecutor's Office against a man who cut the cable of a rope that supported a worker while he was cleaning the facade of a building in Curitiba (PR) on March 14. The suspect was arrested red-handed.
According to the Public Ministry, the accused lives on the top floor of the building, which has 27 floors. Also according to the MP, the victim did not fall from the sixth floor due to the functioning of a safety device that prevented the fall.
The Paraná Civil Police reported that a woman had also been arrested for lying that the perpetrator would not be inside the house. She gave a statement and was subsequently released.
In the complaint, the Public Prosecutor's Office accuses the individual of attempted murder with two qualifications: use of insidious means – something treacherous – and of a resource that made the victim's defense difficult. The motivation for the man to cut the rope is unknown.
The man remains preventively detained in the Curitiba Public Prison. On Monday (25), the defense filed a request for habeas corpus with the Court of Justice, but there has been no decision yet.
