Man claims to be a victim of racism in a luxury hotel in SC; police investigate

The Civil Police of Santa Catarina is investigating a complaint from a man who claims to have been the victim of racism at a luxury hotel in Florianópolis, on the 3rd.

The complaint is from businessman and influencer Lucas Matheus Damazio Corrêa, known as Zulu Damazio.

According to a report published on social networks, he and his family were disrespectfully approached by a hotel security guard for not having the bracelet that gives access to the common areas of the development, such as the pool.

The businessman, however, claims that many people were also without this bracelet and were not approached for this.

Damazio claims that the security guard acted rudely and allegedly told his mother “don’t touch me” when she tried to explain to the employee what was going on.

In addition, the businessman said he had to wait an extra hour to access the keys to the hotel rooms.

In a note, the Military Police of Santa Catarina reported that they went to the hotel around 11:30 pm on January 3 to register the incident report.

Now, the investigation continues with the Civil Police, which will hear the parties again to proceed with the process.

The Public Ministry of Santa Catarina, through the Nucleus for Combating Crimes of Racism and Intolerance, informed that it will monitor the investigation of the case.
