Man Dating 23-Year-Old, Who Looks Like 8-Year-Old Hits Back at Those Calling Relationship ‘Sick’

They called him “creepy” for dating a 23-year-old girl who looks like an 8-year-old. The reason for travel blogger Dan Swygart, who is 26 years old, and recently developed a romance with reality star Shauna Rae. The latter was developmentally delayed due to the treatment she received as a child for brain cancer.

Rae weighs just 22.6kg and is 1.16m tall and stars in TLC’s hit reality series ‘I Am Shauna Rae’.

Swygart recently shared several snaps with Rae on Instagram, before posting a video on the social media site strongly defending their relationship. Rae has long struggled with dating, with the girl telling the New York Post that she’s been looked down on and rejected because of her looks.

In the video, Swygart revealed that he approached Rae with flowers after watching the first season of her show. The couple soon met in person and went on several dates together.

“It’s really important to remember that Shauna is an incredible 23-year-old woman who has a disability,” he explained. “So as you build a relationship with her, it’s important to recognize her disability and move past it and focus on who she is as a person.”

“As soon as you say she can’t have a real relationship with someone else, she’s presented as someone who isn’t human. He is a human being. She deserves to have relationships and bonds with whoever she wants”he continued.

Swygart, who hails from the United Kingdom, appears in the second season of “I Am Shauna Rae,” where we see him develop a relationship with the petite starlet. But the Briton has been attacked by viewers, with someone saying he’s “sick” of seeing Rae sexually.

“Yes, she’s 23, but she looks and talks like an 8-year-old. Also, she doesn’t act like a mature woman. He’s like a child,” one critic claimed, according to the Mirror.

“If any man or woman can honestly say that they can see her sexually as a woman, they are either lying or sick. Perfect,” another reportedly stated, while a third called him “creepy”.

Rae has spoken about the difficulties she faces in her relationships with men. “If you look at me, you see an 8-year-old child. But I think if you take the time to see the details in my face, in my hands, the maturity in my body – and I think if you take the time to really talk to me – you really understand that I’m a 23-year-old,” she has stated.
