A man died, this Monday (2), after being trapped in a burning house, in the Triângulo neighborhood, in Lages, a city located in Serra Santa Catarina (SC).
According to the Santa Catarina Military Fire Department, the team was called around 2pm to respond to a fire in a residence. At the scene, the corporation realized that the fire had already spread and was reaching neighboring houses.
In an attempt to fight the flames from the residence and neighboring houses, firefighters set up a pipeline. The floor of the place was made of wood and was damaged. Furthermore, there was excessive heat in the place, a result of the excess materials being burned, including wood, fabric and plastic.
During the teams’ response, the fire was controlled and firefighters found a victim, located at the bottom of the bathroom of the house, already dead.
After containing the fire, the Military Police and Scientific Police went to the location to carry out the investigation and remove the man’s body. Neighboring houses suffered little damage and residents were advised to understand what precautions should be taken.
