A man died this Monday morning (2), after an elevator in the building of the Federal Regional Court of the 6th Region (TRF-6) fell from the 17th floor during maintenance, in Santo Agostinho, a neighborhood located in the south zone of Belo Horizonte (MG).
According to the Fire Department, the corporation was called to respond to the incident on Rua Santos Barreto, where four teams were mobilized. At the scene, firefighters identified the victim as a man, an outsourced technician, approximately 40 years old and noted that the elevator was heavily damaged.
In a note, the TRF-6 stated that around 9:30 in the morning, the central elevator plummeted from the powerhouse, located on the 17th floor, into the pit, which caused the immediate death of the victim, identified as the outsourced maintenance technician of Aldemir Rodrigues de Souza elevators.
“The company Reformar Elevadores, responsible for the technical maintenance of the equipment, had been carrying out modernization work, and the process was complete in three elevators, with only the one that fell missing. The Court clarifies that the technical maintenance of elevators is kept strictly up to date. Furthermore, it expresses solidarity with Aldemir’s family and is providing all necessary support”, highlighted the TRF-6.
As a security measure, the Court also ordered that all employees, outsourced employees and interns working in the three buildings remain working remotely until this Friday (6).
