A man died after a shooting on the Yellow Line in the Baixa direction, near Complexo da Maré, in Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday night (18).
According to the Rio de Janeiro Military Police, police officers from the Police Battalion in Vias Expressas (BPVE) went to Linha Amarela and were informed that a Military Police officer's car had been stolen. There is no information that the officer was injured in the exchange of gunfire. The incident was forwarded to the 21st DP.
The man shot during the shooting was identified as Lucas Germano Magalhães da Silva, 22 years old. The victim was rescued and taken to Getúlio Vargas State Hospital, but could not resist and died.
The Civil Police reported that the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC) will be responsible for the investigation. According to the police, efforts are being carried out to investigate the case and identify who was responsible for the crime.
Lamsa, the concessionaire that manages the Yellow Line, informed, in a note, that “there was no record of a police incident on the Yellow Line this Sunday (18)”.
